Plandome Residence
Manhasset, New York
A double-height living room anchors the house, while adjacent dining and kitchen areas maintain visual continuity while supporting distinct functions. The plan balances openness with hierarchy, using scale, material transitions, and millwork to define space rather than enclosure.
Materiality emphasizes craftsmanship and permanence, with natural stone, custom woodwork, and integrated detailing throughout. The upper levels house private suites, including a primary suite designed as a self-contained retreat.
Outdoor terraces, gardens, and a pool extend the living environment, creating a continuous relationship between interior and landscape.
Set within a landscaped suburban site, this single-family residence reinterprets traditional estate architecture through a contemporary spatial framework. The design is organized around a central double-height foyer, from which a sequence of formal and informal spaces unfolds.
